The Noni Goodness

Almost a month ago, I received a lovely package from BeMused Korea containing a few products from the brand Celimax. They are famous for their Noni range and I’m very excited to be able to try them for myself. I have seen and heard a lot of great things about these products especially the ampoule so after trying them for several weeks, I’m ready to share my thoughts on them. If you are interested to know more, keep on reading. Watch out for discount codes I have for you if you’re keen on trying these 😉

Who is Celimax?

Celimax is a Korean skincare brand with a focus on transparency. By designing honest, user friendly cosmetics with clean ingredients, Celimax creates products with efficacy that deliver better skin.

First let’s talk about noni. What is that? Noni or also known as morinda citrifolia fruit extract is full of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. I have never seen any Korean brands using this extract before so I’m curious to see what it’ll offer to the skin.

The Real Noni Energy Ampoule Mist

I used to think that a mist is something I don’t particularly need in my routine until I tried one and I was hooked. This has a very fine mist and I really like using this right before toner. This keeps my skin hydrated until I’m ready for the next step.

Did you know it’s not a good thing to leave your skin without any moisture for too long after cleansing your face? Yes that’s right. Try not to leave your skin bare for too long after the first step and before the second step in your routine so this is where a mist comes in handy.

Ingredients highlight:

Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) Fruit Extract (81.67%) – A world renowned superfood, this fruit extract is full of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Antioxidants provide anti-aging benefits and improve dull skin tone.

Tangerine Peel Extract – Contains keratin which provides a refreshing sensation and strengthens the skin’s barrier. Protects skin against free radicals.

Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid – The smallest form of hyaluronic particle, effectively penetrates deeply into skin layers for long lasting hydration.

Copper Tripeptide-1 – Heals skin and stimulates collagen production, improving signs of aging.

The Real Noni Moisture Balancing Toner

As someone who has normal towards oily skin, I prefer something that is lightweight & fast absorbing and this product has exactly what I’m looking for in a toner. It has a pH of 4.5 – 5.5 which makes it perfect as a balancing toner. I have been using this toner in both morning and night routines but I especially love it in the morning routine because it absorbs very fast without leaving sticky or greasy residue and it has a lovely hydrating properties too which I prefer in the morning as some products tend to make my face feels oily towards the end of the day so I really focus on lightweight products in the morning.

This is also great for the layering method and I personally love layering this up to 3-4 layers in my night routine. It’s definitely more on the watery side which is why I love this in the morning.

Ingredients highlight:

Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) Fruit Extract (80.1%) – A world renowned superfood, this fruit extract boasts over 300 types of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Antioxidants provide anti-aging benefits and improve dull skin tone.

Amino Acid Complex – Strengthens skin’s moisture barrier by balancing and retaining hydration level. Improves skin texture.

The Real Noni Energy Ampoule

This is the product that introduces me to Celimax. So many people raved about this ampoule and it got me intrigued about noni in general. This ampoule is more on the thicker side but it’s not too thick to the extent it’s hard to pick up with the dropper wand. The consistency is a bit goopy with gel-like texture but it spreads very easily since it has a slippery viscosity.

I personally prefer using this at night because it can feel a bit heavy in the morning and it is highly moisturizing. I think this is perfect for a minimalist because you really don’t need to use anything extra in your routine besides this ampoule and finish it off with a moisturizer. A full dropper and a half is enough for one usage and the bottle will probably last me two months with consistent uses.

Ingredients highlight:

Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) Fruit Extract (71.77%) – A world renowned superfood, this fruit extract boasts over 300 types of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Antioxidants provide anti-aging benefits and improve dull skin tone.

Adenosine – Soothes and restores the surface of the skin. Helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture.

The Real Noni Refresh Clay Mask

This is not only a regular clay mask but also offers a mild exfoliation with finely powdered dried fruit noni. This doesn’t dry out my skin and my face feels really soft after using it. My enlarged pores also look smooth and refined. I love the fact that it doesn’t dry out too fast while doing a great job at removing the excessive sebum from my skin. The clay mask itself has a deep green-ish color and it looks a bit suspicious (lol) but I can assure you it smells just fine.

Interestingly, you can also use this to deep cleanse. As suggested from the website, here’s how to do it:

For an alternative use as a purifying deep cleanser, mix The Real Noni Refresh Clay Mask with a cleansing foam or gel in 1:2 ratio (clay mask 1: cleanser 2) for deep pore cleansing or masking.

I haven’t personally tried this method yet but I’ll make sure to update this post once I did.

Ingredients highlight:

Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) Fruit Extract (30%) – A world renowned superfood, this fruit extract boasts over 300 types of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Antioxidants provide anti-aging benefits and improve dull skin tone.

Kaolin & bentonite – Effective at removing excessive sebum, dead skin cells, and impurities from clogged pores.

The Real Noni Energy Repair Cream

This a thick cream moisturizer that is targeted for dry and damaged skin however I have normal to oily skin and my skin absolutely love this cream. Upon trying the texture on my hand at first I thought it’s going to be too heavy for me but the cream melts beautifully on my skin and I wake up with soft, well moisturized skin. You know the effect you’d get whenever you’re using sleeping mask/pack? That’s what I get from using this cream.

That being said, I definitely prefer this at night because of its consistency and it is highly moisturizing for me to use in the morning. But if you live in colder country, this may be a lovely morning moisturizer for you. I wish this comes in a bigger tube because I’ll probably finish this 50ml in a couple of months.

Ingredients highlight:

Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) Fruit Extract (55%) – A world renowned superfood, this fruit extract boasts over 300 types of nutrients including vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Antioxidants provide anti-aging benefits and improve dull skin tone.

Noni (Morinda Citrifolia) Seed Oil (1%) – Soothe and moisturize dry, damaged skin.

Ceramide – Strengthen moisture barrier and help prevent water loss from skin.

Adenosine – KFDA-certified functional ingredient for wrinkle improvement.

Overall: My skin absolutely love this range of skincare. After using these for solid few weeks, my skin looks healthier and don’t get me started on the glow! I love how noticeable the glow is and I often caught myself from admiring my own skin in the mirror. Sorry, can’t help it! The only time I see so much glow to my skin is whenever I use AHA & vitamin c and both ingredients aren’t recommended to be used often because they can cause sensitivity to the skin (depends on potency of course) but you can use these noni skincare products every single day (except for the clay mask). I don’t really know how noni smells like but these products has that medicine-like scent which I don’t mind. So far none has cause any irritation to my skin and none has broke me out.

I think all skin types can use these products. If you have dry skin, I think you’ll really enjoy the ampoule, cream and mist. If you have oily skin, you’ll really like the toner and clay mask but hey like I mentioned before, I have oily skin but I also really like the cream.
